Our Whole Grain Farro comes to us from Rustichella d'Abruzzo, a family-owned Italian brand dating back to 1924.Farro is an ancestor of modern wheat; it is similar to barley and spelt produced in Northern European countries. Enjoyed for thousands of years, farro cultivation declined after World War II in favor of modern wheat species. It has regained popularity the last 20 years due to its growing method, nutritional value, and culinary re-discovery.
Our Whole Grain Farro is grown in the Appennine mountain region of Italy, and then meticulously processed to remove the grains' pointy ends and sharp husks. The result is a premium grain product that has a luxurious, chewy bite, similar to al dente pasta. Farro has endless possibilities in the kitchen, but we suggest trying it with mushrooms, wild game, sausage, or soup. It can be simply sautéed with olive oil and garlic for a perfect side dish.
Shipping Information
All orders are shipped via UPS Next Day Air. If a future delivery date is chosen, your order will ship the day before the selected date. If an order is placed after cutoff (2pm ET), your order will ship the next available shipping day. For example, orders placed after 2pm ET on Thursday will ship on the following Monday for Tuesday delivery. Our shipping department is closed Friday-Sunday. We do not offer Saturday or Monday delivery.
