Glacier-51 Chilean Sea Bass x Browne Trading

Do you wonder what makes Chilean Sea Bass so special? We source our Chilean Sea Bass, commonly referred to as Patagonian Toothfish and Alaskan Butterfish, from Glacier-51 Toothfish. This fishery receives their name from the Fiftyone Glacier, 2,553 miles south of Australia. The name comes from the Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition (ANARE) party that explored the glacier in 1951. This Antarctic location bears an icy and breathtaking environment for Glacier-51 Toothfish. Not only does the starting location of the glacier rest far from civilization, the toothfish swim 6,500 feet below the surface along submerged volcanic rocks.

With freezing, dark conditions such as Glacier-51, it is no wonder why Chilean Sea Bass is a delicacy for special occasions. With spectacular fishing in mind, we adore Chilean Sea Bass for its scalloping texture, buttery mouthfeel, and clean taste. Moreover, Chilean Sea Bass has an immense tenderness that comes from the high fat and Omega 3 content, naturally found in the fish.
